When you are looking to purchase golf carts you need to keep in mind that they are just another car type machine. And like cars they need regular maintenance if they are going to keep working like they should for years to come. And even when they are taken care of to perfection things can still go wrong. Look at cars, you can buy a brand new car and the first day you get it home the engine can go on you, that is just bad luck. The same thing applies to golf carts.
rebuild a car engine How many Diesel Motorhomes have you seen with 450,000 miles on them? That’s the point, with a properly maintained and operated rig, that you may expect to have to do some significant engine repairs, like doing a “top end” overhaul. With gas rigs that number is much lower, but still up in the 150,000 mile range. The point is, these rigs will go a lot farther than most of us run them. So why take the financial hit, when they have so much life left?
Buy the Haynes Manual for your car – These manuals are car specific and have detailed information as well as pictures to help you. This will be one of the most valuable tools you have the deeper you delve into the project.
Now, I’m recalling some years back when I was a delivery guy, too. I learned a simple car care truth. You won’t hear of it from your mechanic – but tens of thousands of us car buffs practice a simple routine to double and triple the life of our working cars and equipment. So can you!
overhaul a care engine Squirt about 1/2 teaspoon of oil into the cylinder, then take another reading. This has a sealing effect on the piston rings and cylinder. If the compression numbers increase with this sealing effect, it’s likely worn piston rings/cylinder scoring. If the numbers stay low it’s likely a leaky valve. A machine shop can grind a valve seat for $80 – $100. Worn rings require complete engine disassembly/rebuild.
Upgrade or add to the sail inventory. No matter what the advertisement says, 8-10 year old sails are past their prime. Stretch, wear, UV light take their toll. At the least they will need a major overhaul. And you may need to replace one or more sails. Consider that on a 27 foot cruising boat, the typical mainsail can cost more than $1000 dollars. That’s labor, additional reef points, and materials. Save lots of money if you learn to repair or make your own sails.
build a car engine When you bring your car to a repair shop, they will inspect this component of the vehicle. They may run several tests on the car and they will determine what exactly is not working right. In most cases, the required fixes are very minor. They may just be parts that are too dirty to work properly. If the entire system is not working, the repair shop may need to remove it from the vehicle. At that point, they will determine if they can rebuild it or if they must replace it. If you are worried about costs, be sure to ask for a quote up front. Most transmission repair shops will be glad to do this for you.
While you do not need to physically remove your motor and modify it at all, fitting it with the kit is still required in order for the entire process to work. The connection is via the air manifold where HHO is pumped into the combustion chambers. Do note that the entire process is reversible. Should you decide to stop using it, simply unplug this system off your manifold and electrical system.
